BookEighteeen months ago I was tweeted by Melanie Backe-Hansen, aka the House Historian,  asking whether I might have a photo of Gold Hill that could be used in a new book that she was researching. I duly emailed a few possibilities, one of which I was particularly fond – an elderly chap slowly making his way up the cobbled part of the hill, rather than the tarmac path by the old Abbey walls. I’m sure it was a route he’d taken every day of his life.

A month ago I received an invitation from Melanie, inviting us to the book launch at Waterstones in Piccadilly which we were delighted to attend last night. Unbeknownst to me, not only had a couple of my photos been chosen to accompany the chapter on Gold Hill, but my favourite ‘old chap on Gold Hill’ photo was adorning the front cover! I have to confess to feeling rather proud!

Melanie was kind enough to present us with a signed copy but they may also be ordered from Amazon (this link will automatically donate from Amazon to Epilepsy Action with no extra cost to you).
