- There are 2 generous sofas for sitting with a book, film or simply firelight
- The sitting room’s discreet technology includes a flatscreen TV with freeview HD, DVD / VHS player, CD & DAB radio with mp3 connection via your own cable
- Wifi is supplied (also with cable connection in the sitting room)
- The extensive film library of DVDs and videos is housed in an antique oak chest and books in an antique revolving set of library shelves
- There is also a selection of CDs
- Local information and maps can be found in an antique desk
- There is a further antique writing desk with a leather cottage information folder
- The sitting room windows look on to both the Blackmore Vale and Gold Hill with the C9th walls of Shaftesbury Abbey founded by King Alfred the Great for his daughter
